01/31/2023: Deadline Day: Chelsea keep pushing for Enzo Fernández; Atlético secure Matt Doherty; Amrabat gets away from Barça; Bellerín, imminent signing for Sporting Portugal
Chelsea keep pushing for Enzo Fernández:
Benfica and Chelsea keep negotiating for the signing of Enzo Fernández, as the Portuguese club has not given the green light yet for the transfer. Chelsea’s bid has not changed: 120 million for his release clause, split up in six fees. Even though the situation seems now stuck, it could all change in the next coming hours.

Atlético secure Matt Doherty:
Simeone’s squad is just one step away from closing the agreement with Tottenham to sign Matt Doherty. He will join Atlético on loan until the end of the season in order to replace Felipe, who will end up heading to Nottingham Forest in the next coming hours.

Amrabat gets away from Barça:
Barça are insisting on Amrabat’s signing, but negotiations with Fiorentina are not progressing, as they have turned down Barça’s most recent bid, which consisted of a 3-4 million loan plus a 37 million non mandatory buy option. Fiorentina are not planning to let him go in this winter transfer market, but anything can still happen.

Bellerín, imminent signing for Sporting Portugal:
Right back Bellerín has not shown up in Barça’s training session today with the club’s permission to fly to Lisbon and close his transfer. One of the issues that both clubs still need to solve is the payment, as Barça want Sporting to submit the first one now, but Sporting prefer to fully pay by the end of the season. Barça are asking for about one million euros.
Enzo Fernández, one step away from Chelsea:
The race to sign the Argentinian player is about to finish on the deadline day of the winter transfer market. According to Sky Sports News, the ‘Blues’ have already agreed on fully paying his 120 million release clause, which is expected to end up on 130 million after yesterday’s negotiations. Chelsea’s plan is to split up the payment into six fees. This way, Enzo Fernández will become Chelsea’s 9th addition in this winter transfer market.
Nottingham Forest speed up for Felipe:
The signing of Felipe for Nottingham Forest is just a few hours away from becoming official. Bayer Leverkusen ended up stepping in to acquire him, but Nottingham have been faster and have already reached a total agreement. Felipe will sign until June 2024 with his new club and he is expected to go through medicals today.
Barça battle for Julián Araújo:
Barça are very interested in signing Galaxy’s full back. Just as Héctor Bellerín will head to Sporting Portugal, Julián Araújo will more than likely land in the Camp Nou Stadium officially as a second team player, but he will be with the first team most of the time. The deal will be a loan and it might include a buy option.
Keylor Navas’ exit from PSG gets stuck:
According to Fabrizio Romano, the loan agreement that Nottingham Forest had offered Keylor Navas has not received the green light from PSG’s board of directors yet, which complicates the deal. The goalkeeper was expected to leave this January in order to earn playing time. However, just as we are in the final stages of this winter transfer market, this will unlikely happen.
01/30/2023: Chelsea are willing for anything to sign Enzo Fernández; Felipe, set to leave Atlético; Sporting Portugal steps in for Héctor Bellerín; Bryan Gil gets close to Sevilla
Chelsea are willing for anything to sign Enzo Fernández:
Enzo Fernández signing for Chelsea at the beginning of January seemed unlikely. However, now just a few days before the end of the winter transfer market, it seems possible. After several bids submitted from Chelsea to Benfica that were all turned down, the ‘Blues’ are now willing to pay the 120 million euros that Benfica have been requesting all this time, as that is his release clause. Chelsea and Enzo Fernández will meet up today, but final decision is on Rui Costa.
Felipe, set to leave Atlético:
The exit of the Brazilian central defender from Atlético is about to become a reality. According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are having conversations with Atlético and they are close to reach an agreement. Furthermore, his exit would make possible the arrival of Çağlar Söyüncü to Simeone’s squad before expected, as the deal was that he would join in June, but if Felipe were finally to leave now, Atlético would need a replacement right away.
Sporting Portugal steps in for Héctor Bellerín:
The Portuguese club want to sign Héctor Bellerín, which is why they have started negotiating both with the club and the player’s agent. The goal is to acquire him as the replacement for Pedro Porro. Conversations are heading the right way and Barça are willing to let him leave, as he has barely gotten playing time under Xavi.
Bryan Gil gets close to Sevilla:
Sampaoli’s squad are close to sign Bryan Gil in order to improve their offensive area. The player is not happy at Tottenham and he wants to leave at any cost, which is why he really likes the idea of returning to Sevilla. He would join on loan until the end of the season with no buy option and then return to England in June.
01/29/2023: Verbal agreement with Pedro Porro; Keylor Navas, in the transferable list; Iván Fresneda’s deal keeps stuck; Sporting Portugal keep an eye on Bellerín
Verbal agreement with Pedro Porro:
Tottenham have finally managed to reach a verbal agreement with Sporting Portugal for the transfer of the right back, which would be totally closed within the next 24 hours. The player said bye to the Portuguese club fans last night and headed to London to sign for Tottenham, where he will stay until 2028.
Keylor Navas, in the transferable list:
Nottingham Forest recently showed interest in signing Keylor Navas, who is barely having any playing time to show off at PSG. For this reason, Keylor Navas is willing to make this move, but PSG still have to give the green light, as they would be required to pay most of his salary for his transfer to the English club. The board of directors has not made a decision yet.
Iván Fresneda’s deal keeps stuck:
The exit of Iván Fresneda from Valladolid is still stuck, as they have not received any convincing bid despite clubs like Borussia Dortmund are very interested. Given the few days left until the end of the winter transfer market, a likely call would be for the right back to sign for Borussia Dortmund but stay at Valladolid on loan until the end of the season, according to journalist Matteo Moretto. This way, both parties must make the most out of the few time left in order to reach an agreement.
Sporting Portugal keep an eye on Bellerín:
The imminent exit of Pedro Porro to Tottenham leaves a gap in Sporting Portugal’s defense, which is why they have started looking for a replacement among some European clubs. And one of the first names on the list is Héctor Bellerín, who joined Barça in summer and has barely had any playing time under coach Xavi since then. His contract expires this year and Barça will not extend it, which is why both parties are looking for a solution that can benefit both of them and leaving Barça now would be a good one.
01/28/2023: Sampaoli thinks about Bryan Gil; Barça do not forget about Azpilicueta; Valencia are interested in Saúl; Cádiz probe Suso
Sampaoli thinks about Bryan Gil:
Sevilla’s head coach Sampaoli has shown his desire to sign Tottenham’s winger Bryan Gil. For now, Sevilla keep pushing Tottenham in case they change their mind.
Barça do not forget about Azpilicueta:
The name of César Azpilicueta is still on Barça’s list of candidates to add to their roster. Barça were very interested in signing Chelsea’s full back in last summer transfer market. Now there is a chance for them to make a new attempt, as Chelsea might be willing to let him go next summer if they find the right replacement for his position. This way, Barça are keeping an eye on this situation in case they could acquire him any time.
Valencia are interested in Saúl:
Saúl Ñíguez has become Valencia ‘s next goal in this winter transfer market. Their knock out from the Spanish Cup against Athletic Club and the fact that they are currently mid-low of the table in LaLiga have made the club look at new additions to strengthen their squad. Simeone does not count on him at Atlético and the player would be willing to join Valencia. He would join them until June 2024 on loan, which would be a beneficial deal for both clubs.
Cádiz probe Suso:
Cádiz have thought of Suso as a possible strength for their roster. Even though they have taken their first attempt to sign him, Sevilla’s manager Monchi has closed the door right away. The plan was for Suso to leave on loan until the end of the season and Sevilla would take care of part of his salary. Just a few days before the deadline day of the winter transfer market, Sevilla are not willing to make this deal happen and Cádiz are running out of time.

This is the case of Gavi’s new contract, which has been extended until 2026 and with a one billion release clause. The club hopes to be able to sign him up in LaLiga before January 31st, which is the transfer deadline. This way, this is a priority for Barça right now in the next coming days.
Pedro Porro, about to sign for Tottenham:
There is progress on the conversations between the ‘Spurs’ and Sporting Portugal. According to Fabrizio Romano, his contract will be valid until 2028. In addition, both clubs will agree on splitting up the payment into two or three fees. Once they finish that step, the agreement will be total.

Selim Amallah, one of the stars of Morocco at the Qatar World Cup, has arrived in Spain in order to sign for Valladolid. The club has reached an agreement with Standard Lieja in order to acquire the player until 2027 in exchange for half million euros. Las Palmas are interested in Loren Morón:
A new competitor has joined the race to sign Betis’ striker . Apart from Tenerife, Las Palmas are also interested in signing him. They would like a loan until the end of the season, as Loren Morón has only played four games with Betis so far.

Roger Martí joins Cádiz on loan:

Real Madrid are interested in Fran García:
Real Madrid would be interested in signing back Rayo Vallecano’s left back Fran García. Rayo hold the 50% of his rights, which is why the final cost for Ancelotti’s squad would only be five million euros. However, Bayern Leverkusen are also in the race for him and they would have to pay 10 million euros to acquire him. If that happened, Real Madrid would lose all their rights on the player.
For now, the ‘Whites’ have told the player that he will stay at Rayo Vallecano until the end of the season and they plan on signing him in summer.
01/25/2023: The race for Iván Fresneda gets stuck; Reine-Adélaïde will not sign for Sevilla; Premier League keep an eye on Nico Williams; Danjuma will sign for Tottenham

Valladolid keep requesting 15 million euros for his transfer.
Reine-Adélaïde will not sign for Sevilla:
The signing of the Frenchman player for Sevilla will not end up happening after his medical tests did not go as expected. The outcomes have shown that there is not guarantee that the player will be ready to compete at LaLiga every weekend and Sevilla can’t afford to wait for their new signings to perform right away. This way, the agreement between Sevilla and Olympique Lyon has been broken.
Premier League keep an eye on Nico Williams:
Premier League are watching Nico Williams since he was called up with Spin for the Qatar World Cup. His contract with Athletic Club expires in June 2024 and some clubs from the league such as Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing him. Arsenal have even decided to fully pay his 50 million release clause, but Nico Williams has turned down the bid. On the other hand, Liverpool are keeping an eye on him.
Danjuma will sign for Tottenham:
Against all odds, Danjuma will end up signing for Tottenham instead of Everton, as it was expected. In fact, the agreement between Everton and Villarreal was reached last Saturday night and the player himself went through medicals with who was supposed to be his new team on that same day. However, the striker decided to back up once the Spurs showed up. Negotiations between clubs have now finished and Danjuma will join on loan until the end of the season. Sevilla have given green light to the deal and so negotiations keep making progress.
Kessié rules out to leave Barça:
Midfielder Kessié has let know both Xavi and the board of directors that he does not plan to leave Barça and they are OK with that. However, the agreement would not take place until next summer transfer market, as the winter one is at its final stages and there is not too much time to work it out. Furthermore, the deal is uncertain, as Kessié does not want to leave Barça, unless he ends up considering it due to his low playing time.

This way, it is up to Barça to decide what will happen.
The battle for Bellingham continues:
Real Madrid have established themselves as the main competitor to sign Bellingham, as they are calculating numbers to face off the most expensive sign in their history. The ‘Whites’ have made it clear that they will not pass the 120 million euros investment, but Dortmund are asking for 150. Atlético de Madrid had shown interest in Aubameyang in case Memphis Depay would not work out in order to replace João Félix. On the other hand, Barça have admitted that it was a mistake to let him go last summer, which is why they have considered bringing him back, especially with the lack of minutes that he is having at Chelsea.
Atlético think about an exchange with Felipe:
Atlético are still in the race for Çağlar Söyüncü, but Felipe needs to be transferred in order for the Turkish to join in this January, which is why the Brazilian must accept one of the bids that he is receiving. Barça want to renew Balde:
Balde’s contract extension is one of the pending tasks that Barça want to take care of. Both parties want to keep working with each other and that is likely to happen. Player’s manager Jorge Mendes has already had conversations with Barça to reach an agreement. With just final details pending, an official announcement will likely be made in the next coming hours.
PSG prepare Messi’s new contract:
The contract extension of Messi with PSG is very close to being sealed. The victory from Argentina at the World Cup makes his value to be even higher despite the fact that he is 35 years old. This way, PSG will increase their investment, but so will their benefits with him in the club. This will be a contract ‘impossible to reject’, according to PSG. However, it is still being prepared and that might take a few weeks.
Álex Moreno heads to Aston Villa:
The left back has a new destination in the Premier League, as he will play for Aston Villa. In fact, he has not traveled with Betis to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup in order to complete his move. The deal is based on a 13.5 million euros price plus 1.5 in bonuses. This way, the desire of Unai Emery will be fulfilled.
Eric García turns down Arsenal:
The proposals from England in order to sign Barça’s central defender keep coming. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are the first ones to show interest in Eric García, who has become a total second unit guy under Xavi. Despite this fact, he has no intention to leave and wants to stay until his contract expires in 2026.
Betis dream of Manu Sánchez:
The exit of Álex Moreno from Betis results in the need of new signings for the left back position and Manu Sánchez from Osasuna is the priority. However, we must remind you that he is on loan from Atlético, which makes his transfer more complicated. Despite this fact, his arrival to the Benito Villamarín Stadium could take place through an exchange. Borja Iglesias is in Atlético’s list for the striker position and that could be the solution for the deal to happen.
For now, Osasuna do not plan on an exit of Manu Sánchez in this winter transfer market, but this could change if they get a good bid on their table.

Mendy, in the transferable list of Real Madrid:
Real Madrid have made their minds up in order for Mendy to leave the Bernabéu shortly. His performance in the team’s defeat last Saturday against Villarreal was key to bring up doubts within the club on whether they should keep counting on him or not. Furthermore, the constant requirements by the player on a salary increase are not helping for Real Madrid to plan on a contract extension, apart from the low level that he has been showing recently. For now, the full back is being watched by PSG and Manchester City, two of the clubs that already showed interest in signing him before.
PSG join the race for Bellingham:
There is no doubt that the English midfielder is being one of the most desired players in this winter transfer market. Al Nassr are interested in Hazard:
After the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr now have a new goal to keep building a top forward: Eden Hazard. The player for Real Madrid does not really count for the club and he could leave at any moment. In fact, the player himself has said that he would leave if they asked him to.
Atlético keep pushing for Çağlar Söyüncü:
The ‘Rojiblancos’ keep battling to sign the Turkish defender in the month of January. United ask for Memphis Depay:
The Dutchman striker is once again in the transferable list in this winter transfer market. His unsteady situation at Barça almost made him leave last summer. And now Manchester United, the team he played for between 2015 and 2017, might be interested in signing him again.
FC Barcelona expect to make some revenue from this exit, but it will not be a high quantity, as Depay’s contract expires next summer. However, he wants to leave the club as a free agent. The ‘Red Devils’ do not plan to invest money on him. There is no official bid on him for now.

Real Madrid set a limit price for Bellingham:
The ‘Whites’ continue on the race for Jude Bellingham, but they have set up a 110 million euros as their top price for his signing, without including the bonuses, which can make the final price to get considerably increased. This way, Bellingham could cost 30 million more than Tchouaméni.
Unai Emery wants to sign Álex Moreno:
Aston Villa’s coach insists on adding Beti’s left back to his squad, which increases the uncertainty on his future at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. Manuel Pellegrini counts on him and the club does not plan on transferring him. However, if a potential sale ended up taking place, the final price would be between 15-20 million euros.
City and PSG keep an eye on Mendy:
The future of the Frenchman full back at the Bernabéu could change its course. Even though Ancelotti counts on him, his contract extension, which expires in 2025, is not among Real Madrid’s priorities right now. This way, the ‘Whites’ are starting to work on potential substitutions in case Mendy left. Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Jules Bellingham during this winter transfer market. However, Manchester City and Liverpool are also in the battle. América from Mexico show interest in Keylor Navas:
The future of Keylor Navas is uncertain after not being a starter anymore at PSG. Now Keylor has been linked to the Águilas de América, who are looking for a new keeper after the exit of Memo Ochoa, Salernitana’s new signing.
