Several sources report that Manchester United are interested in Casemiro in order to strengthen their midfield. A very different profile to what coach Erik ten Hag looked for at first, as he tried to signed De Jong multiple times. It is being reported that the offer would be around 60 million euros and now the player and Real Madrid must make a decision.

It is true that Casemiro did not performed at his highest last season, but he is still a key player for Ancelotti’s defensive system and I do not think that losing him would be the best option. Apparently, Real Madrid do not have any financial need to sell him and his possible replacements are still too young. Another different aspect would be Casemiro’s provision to leave.

Tchouaméni needs time:

Signed from Monaco in exchange for 80 million, Tchouaméni has joined Real Madrid in order to be the midfielder that can replace Casemiro. He has the potential for that, even though they are profiles with some differences, which makes Ancelotti to have to reorganize the system. Letting Casemiro go would equal to speed up the adaptation process with Tchouaméni, which does not benefit neither the player nor the team.

We were already able to witness the debut of the new signing for Real Madrid in Almería and he did not stand out precisely. A rain of critics from part of Real Madrid’s fans that do not expect him to go through an adaptation process for the new players came right away. Patience.

The succession of the midfield formed by Modric, Kroos and Casemiro is a dilemma. A trio that has been important to win the Champions league is hardly replaced, even though the club must also look forward towards the near future. Camavinga already arrived last season with the promise of being the future, just like Tchouaméni now.

Ancelotti, who is not a big fan of rotations, must adapt the playing style of Real Madrid to the new signings. This is why I would not be surprised at all to see a midfielder formed by Tchouaméni and Camavinga together shortly based on the kind of players and roles previously granted.

A transition year is necessary in the ‘Whites’ midfield. Maybe by the them the new ones to come explode is too late to make revenue from Casemiro, but the Brazilian can still add some good years both to the midfield and the locker room. It would be a mistake to let him go.
