All football fans can agree to a greater or lesser extent on who have been the greatest players in the history of football. Despite this, there are some players who captivate the hearts of fans. Players who have amazed the football world with their quality and the fun they bring to the pitch. A clear example in my opinion of this kind of player is Savinho.
Sávio Moreira is, undoubtedly, one of the biggest revelations of this season. The Brazilian player, who is owned by Troyes, is surprising the whole world with his level. The player’s form, coupled with the historic season Girona are having, creates a perfect symbiosis that projects into positive results for the team.
Savinho has become one of the cornerstones of this Girona team and a permanent fixture in Míchel‘s scheme, being the only outfield player who has played in every game of the league competition (he has only had one substitution against Almería).
Sávio has just scored a double against Rayo, to seal a game that could have been complicated for Girona in those final minutes. With these two goals, he now has nine goals (seven in the league) and seven assists. He is currently the second highest assisting player in the league, tied with Kroos and his teammate Yan Couto, and only surpassed by Baena.
He is a player who has shown he has tremendous personality and loves to take on opponents one-on-one. He is the second player in the league, behind Vinícius, who completes the most dribbles, with 2.6 per game, but has a slightly higher success rate than the Real Madrid player (52% compared to 44% for Vinícius).
The young Brazilian winger, just 19 years old, has attracted the attention of many European clubs, which is why, according to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have decided to move forward given the player’s enormous potential.
Let’s remember that Troyes (the team that owns the player) belongs to the City Football Group, so Manchester seemed the next logical destination for the player.
Despite having signed for City, Sávio’s future remains unknown. With Manchester City’s big squad and Girona’s chances of playing in the next edition of the Champions League becoming more and more likely, the rumour of another possible loan move to the Catalan club is gaining momentum.
Right now, Savinho is one of the hottest and most in-form players in Europe. We will see how the Brazilian’s season progresses, because what he is experiencing at Montilivi is something that will go down in the history books of Spanish football.
