What is this team’s ceiling? At the moment, it is unpredictable, and it would be a mistake to place them anywhere in the table. Even so, talking about European places is logical given the image shown so far, compared to the rest.
Míchel’s Girona is still the spitting image of what they were last season, even in an improved version. Despite losing several key players such as Oriol Romeu, Taty Castellanos and Rodrigo Riquelme, Míchel has managed to bring together similar and even more powerful players.
The coach has managed to give continuity to what worked so well last season. They are still that brave team that goes after the opposition on the ball, that doesn’t shy away from proposing and having possession and control of the ball, and that opts for continuous attacks down the flank, being a very vertical team.

In terms of what this team is all about, the first name that comes to mind is undoubtedly that of Sávio Moreira. The Brazilian has taken the team’s attacking potential on his shoulders, in true Brazilian style. He is the revelation of the league, with two goals and three assists in six games. A powerful winger in his diagonals on the inside, very unbalanced and with a very strong lower body that allows him to reach a great speed, possess a great shot and withstand heavy contact.
Still with the potential on the wings, if Savinho wasn’t enough, we add the already well-known Ukrainian Viktor Tsygankov. His ability no longer surprises anyone, he is immovable on the right flank and basically, improves every attack of the team when the ball passes through his feet.

At full-back, the outstanding player is Miguel Gutiérrez, who is helping Savinho to pin down opponents, and to almost always have superiority on the wing. Girona is a team that never rifles the ball, starting from the base, with David Lopez and newcomers Blind and Eric García at a high level.
