Atypical but crucial match for Real Madrid and Eibar at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, where Madrid played an official game for the first time in their history. Zidane´s team went out knowing that Barça had done their homework yesterday against Mallorca and, therefore, did not have any error margin on the battle for LaLiga title. On the other side, Eibar cannot fall asleep either, as they are just two points above relegation.

The first thing that happened was an outstanding goal by Toni Kroos to the top right after a great shot with his right foot from outside the box. Just as Barça did yesterday, Madrid aslo started very motivated. Eibar improved from that moment and started to appear on the opponents half. Away team had some good minutes after Kroos goal with players Orellana and Exposito directing the attack, but non of them put keeper Courtois in trouble.

The speed of the game decreased, but Madrid took advantage of an excellent counterattack run and finished by Ramos, previous combination Benzema-Hazard in order to overcome Eibar´s defense and give it to Ramos, as he only had to put it in with an empty goal. Madrid held their momentum and killed the game in the first half. Benzema sent a pass to Hazard, he took the shot, and Eibar´s keeper Dmitrovic saved it, but Marcelo received the rebound and did not miss the chance to score his goal through a good shot to the second post. 3-0.

Second half lost all the intensity as the game was totally decided. However, Eibar had several clear chances to get closer on the scoreboard, mostly through a shot by Expóstio that Courtois saved, and a header by forward Kike García that hit the crossbar. Finally Eibar scored their goal after a shot from Cristoforo that his teammate Arbilla deflected into the net.

Madrid had not returned from the locker-room, they had relaxed excessively, the game lasted too much for them. Pedro León had the opportunity to really get his team into the game, but he was unable to finish it. The scare ended there as Eibar did not manage to score any other goals. The battle for the title stays the same after the first football weekend of this new league.
