Arturo Vidal leaves Barcelona and moves to Milan. The Chilean footballer, a personal request by coach Antonio Conte, arrives at the Giuseppe Meazza on a very low price, as the Italian squadra will only pay 1 million plus bonuses for the transfer. The player will reach an agreement with Barça in order to rescind the remaining season contract that he had.
Once again, Barça have shown their strategy for this transfer market: to “get rid of” those players that Koeman does not count on in order to lighten their budget, as it happened with Ivan Rakitic. Luis Suárez will be the next one to leave, this time to Turin.
Vidal will move to a club and a league that certainly fit in better to his playing style, mostly about physical strength in the midfield. Precisely, he said in an interview to the podcast ’Inquebrantables’, just a few days after Barça´s humiliating defeat to Bayern, that they needed to change their DNA because football has developed and other teams now focus more on fitness, strength and speed instead of just technique, as it non of those areas were related. In Italy he will have all the physical battles he wants, his natural habitat.
