The Italian coach now has 31 games under his belt at Napoli, with 19 wins, seven draws and just five defeats. Having implemented a clear offensive 4-3-3 formation, Conte has been able to get the most out of his players and, with a solid and tight defense, is the lowest scoring team in the league with 23 goals conceded. Being just a few points behind first place (Inter Milan), Conte’s team has a serious chance of winning the ‘Scudetto’.
From glory to hell:
After a 22/23 season in which Napoli pulled off a surprise, stringing together one of their best seasons and winning the league by a landslide, they had to suffer the consequences. The coach who had achieved it all took a break, some of his flagship players left, and others were unhappy with the management and did not perform half as well as in the previous season, as in the case of Victor Osimhen.
Such was the chaos that they failed to qualify even for the European places, finishing 10th in a league where the sensations were horrible, with up to three coaches in the same season.
Naples, a place for revival:
Napoli have had to carry out a great transfer market. Between loans and transfers, Conte’s team has let go up to 27 players, something unheard of in the past.
However, the replacements have been formidable. Names like Lukaku, Mctominay, Neres or Billing, who had no place in their teams or had lost the confidence in them, have been able to bring out their best version in Napoli, making them fight to win Serie A.
