Moisés Caicedo is having an outstanding end of the season with Brighton. The Ecuadorian returned in January from his loan at K Beerschot VA and only played half an hour with the first team in the FA Cup until April 9th. That day he made his debut in the Premier League against Arsenal and gave an assist.

Since then, Caicedo has started six games in a row against Tottenham, Manchester City, Southampton, Wolves y Manchester United. As you can see, these are all very high level matches and he has responded through great performances.

In fact, his first goal was against the team of his dreams, Manchester United. “Moisés has the ability to do that, it was a great finish and has been playing fantastic since he joined the team”, said Graham Potter after the game.

Moisés Caicedo has not taken too long in order to earn recognitions: his game against Wolves was awarded as the best individual performance of the month of April for Brighton and he has also chosen as the player of the game versus United.

The Ecuadorian has become into a pillar for the midfield of the ‘Seagulls’. Caicedo develops his football as an interior through a huge physical display that allows him to take up both the length and wide on the field and carry out an extremely high pressure on his mark.

He plays an important role on containment thanks to his defensive reading and excellent ability to intercept passes and steal the ball on duels. However, he also adds on creating by combining his game vision and quality passes. His biggest attribute in this area are the walls.

Moisés Caicedo proved in Ecuador and then with the national team that he is an all terrain midfielder. He started as a defensive midfielder at Independiente Del Valle and now he has adapted perfectly to play as an interior.

He is already a starter at Brighton and he is barely 20 years old. He has earned the love of the fans and the respect from his teammates. “I am very happy for Moisés and Cucu. They have been excellent for us”, said Leandro Trossard after their last game.

Potter has pointed out recently that Caicedo’s potential is very high. Yes indeed, that is totally true. Next season can be a turning point in his career. Who knows? Maybe he will be able to accomplish one of his dreams in a few years: to play for Manchester United.
