No Spur fan imagined at the start of the summer, when his club announced the arrival of an unknown Ange Postecoglou as new manager, that his side would be leading the English league table at this stage of the season.
The Greek-Australian manager is proving to be one of the best managers of the 2023-24 Premier League. Thanks to his working method and tactical approach, Tottenham Hotspur are the only English team, along with Arsenal, who have yet to lose a league game.

In fact, they have six wins and two draws so far in the Premier League. A very positive streak that the London side haven’t experienced for quite some time.
What’s more, after a very good 2021-22 season in which they achieved a remarkable fourth place in the league, ‘The Whites’ experienced a disastrous campaign the following year.
With Conte in the dugout, they finished a lowly eighth place, falling out of the European qualification places, which was a real disappointment for the fans.

Postecoglou and his influence on the team:
Postecoglou, however, has given Tottenham a new look. Despite the absence of star man Harry Kane, the Greek-Australian has been able to get the best out of all his players.
Up front, Son Heung-Min has become Tottenham’s third all-time leading scorer this season with 150 goals and Madisson, this summer’s big signing, has more than met the demands of his new club, scoring twice and assisting five times in eight league games so far in England.
In midfield, he has set up a strong double pivot formation which, in turn, is a frequent attacking outlet.

This double pivot is made up of the home-grown Pape Sarr, whose emergence into the first team was entirely Postecoglou’s fault, and the Malian Bissouma, who has played all of his team’s league games as a starter, which shows the prominence given to him by his new coach.
As for the defensive line, the manager has managed to find the perfect balance. Starting in goal, the addition of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been a great success, as he has ensured that Spurs fans won’t be reminded of the recent retirement of Hugo Lloris.
Further forward in defence, Cuti Romero has finally found the perfect partner in Micky Van de Ven. After several years of trying out various players in this position, Ange seems to have found the perfect partner.

A promising season with Postecoglou in the dugout:
Although we are still early in the season and it is too early to draw conclusions, everything points to this Tottenham side going quite far this year.
Wins over Manchester United (2-0) and Liverpool (2-1) plus a draw against arch-rivals Arsenal (2-2) show that Tottenham under Postecoglou are capable of competing with any team.
Will they be able to topple the all-powerful Manchester City and will they win the Premier League?
Only time will tell if this is Tottenham’s year or if, on the contrary, they will collapse mid-season.
