It is just a month left for the end of the regular season and the Phoenix Suns already have a spot guaranteed into the Playoffs. They lead the Western Conference and are a main candidate towards the upcoming series. This way, the team from Arizona will look for redemption after losing the 2021 Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Suns were second in the Western Conference by this time last season only behind the Utah Jazz. They are now the ones that lead the table, which proves that the team has established and shows off the great job by Monty Williams. Furthermore, they are the first franchise in the entire league to clinch a spot in the Playoffs mathematically.

On the other hand, we can’t forget the magnificent level from their key players, Chris Paul and Devin Booker. Despite the injury that has kept him away from the court since February, Chris Paul averages 14.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 10.7 assists. Moreover, the shooting guard is having his best season individually, as he is averaging 25.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

A historical season for the Suns:

The outstanding season by the Suns is certainly one for the books. They sealed the best start record in the history of the franchise (47-10) back in February with their win versus the Los Angeles Clippers by 103-96.

The best records in the regular season for the Suns took place in the 2004/05 and the 1992/93 campaigns, both of them with 62 wins and 20 losses. In 2005 they were knocked out by the San Antonio Spurs in the Conference Semifinals and then they fell to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in the 1993 Finals.

This year they can make history, improve the records from those two seasons and, most importantly, win the anxious ring.
