The Spanish National Team have conquered their fourth EURO’s thanks to Luis de la Fuente. A normal guy who does not run a Twitch channel, does not have any social media, nor he coaches from any scaffolds.
He does not either go against the press, nor generates unnecessary wars against everyone in order to drag the attention on him at any cost and at any time. This is all the opposite.
Our National Team coach, Luis de la Fuente, has left all that twitching behind in order to make us champions through an admirable way. And it feels good.
The triumph of Spain in this EURO is the triumph of football. Nobody has played better, nor picked up better outcomes. A tournament full of victories is not easy to do.
And the best part is that we have done that by displaying a nice and vertical playing style, through which the Spanish National Team has always look forward to the opposite goal.
Having the ball with no sense was also left behind. That boring and foreseeable style that took us nowhere has become into a new triumphal style that has made us unstoppable against the big squads of the continent.
The arrival of Luis de la Fuente has brought back the consistent squads, where (almost) all the players that are in good shape are called up, instead of staying at home. And even they get to play in their natural positions. Absolutely amazing.
In just a year, while the previous coach showed off of reaching a EURO’s semifinal and a Nations League final, with a total resume of zero trophies lifted as the ‘coach’ of the National Team, the current one has won both competitions. Putting things in context, he even said once. Fortunately, time puts everything in place.
There are plenty of names in this squad that have made us champions. From my point of view, the main ones have been Carvajal, Cucurella, Laporte, Rodri, Fabián, Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal, or Nico Williams. Mikel Merino and Oyarzabal have also been key in a National Team with a lot of presence from Real Sociedad. But no doubt that the main architect of this feature has been Luis de la Fuente.
A normal guy that has brought the excitement back to us and who has united the country again towards a National Team that, in the wrong hands, lost its identity for several years. Now, 12 years later, we have lifted another big title by completing a perfect tournament. Some of them just take care of their job. Other ones, cause trouble.
