The NBA new season is already underway and show some names also start to stand out. It has certainly become unusual to not wake up with a highlights video of Ja Morant from the night before with his best actions. It is a pleasure to see him play in a two-minutes video, but that does not even reflect everything he is capable of doing on a court.

This start of the season from the Memphis Grizzlies proves that Ja Morant wants to be among the candidates for the MVP Award of the regular season. His improvement and maturity is constant, along with an inborn quality that makes him fly and wiggle in the air as if we saw God disguised of a basketball player. Air Ja.
He currently averages 33.3 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds, specially improving on three-point shooting, where he now a 56% of accuracy while he used to have around 30% in the previous seasons. This proves a really high confidence level, even though the Grizzlies have a record of four wins and three defeats so far.

The importance from the second unit guys:
Desmond Bane has neither go unnoticed in this start of the season for the Memphis Grizzlies, as he is proving that he can be a great protector for Ja Morant. He averages 24.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5 assists.
He had his best performance so far against the Brooklyn Nets, where he scored 38 points with eight triples. A very versatile player offensively that does not hide at the key moments.

The absence of Jaren Jackson Jr. due to an injury makes the Spanish Santi Aldama to be earning minutes. He has a secondary playing role, but he is being important at rebounding and scoring points from his chances.
In his first games he averages 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. His teammate Bane really praised him and said that they would have not beaten the Brooklyn nets without him.
Steven Adams from the paint and with the pick & roll and Dillon Brooks from the defense and three-point shooting make a young but reliable starting line-up that aim to win lots of games throughout the regular season and keep earning experience in the Playoffs.
The biggest issue for this team is their defense, even though the already mentioned Jaren Jackson can help to fix that once he is back from his injury.
The path is long, but the franchise from Memphis is taking firm steps in order to establish themselves among the candidates from the West. Their franchise player has MVP potential and mentality, but he is not alone in this.
