It´s official: Gareth Bale is a Spur. The Welsh returns to Tottenham on a one season loan in exchange of 22M. This way, Real Madrid get rid of his high salary (17M per season). The player will have to return to the Whites next year in order to finish his contract, which expires in 2022, unless Madrid finds another club for him next summer.
Bale returns to the club where he performed his best and that provided him with the opportunity to sign for Real Madrid seven tears ago. Zidane does not count on him anymore and, surprisingly, Gareth´s attitude has changed and so he finally has accepted to leave, of course without giving up a single euro of his salary. The Welsh has conformed himself with a secondary role this last few seasons and he has not cared to much about being on the bench constantly. “Wales, golf, Madrid, in that order”, were the priorities he showed in a flag of his country at the celebration of his National Team classification for the Eurocup in November of last year. Now we will have to find out if those priorities change or if the Spurs just substitute Madrid´s spot on his list.
Bale will be under coach Mourinho, who has always shown interested in this particular player. His mission now is to recover his best performance level. He is still 31 years old and he will try to return to his best in a more fitness, strength, and speedy league where he will certainly have more chances to stand out on the pitch. Madrid gets rid of a player they do not want and Tottenham receives him gladly.
