To buy before selling. A risky market strategy that Tottenham have decided to carry out towards next season. Antonio Conte faces his first summer as the Spurs‘ coach and the club counts on him in order to build the desired roster.

The Italian coach wants to keep making the project grow and so he needs his untouchable players to pull it off. He already made some changes in the last winter transfer market with the exits of Dele Alli and the loans of Lo Celso, Bryan Gil and Ndombele. At the same time, Kulusevski and Bentancur came in and they have earned Conte’s confidence very fast.
Signings of Conte’s profile:
Sporting director Fábio Paratici has managed to increase the level of the current roster with the signings. The playing style of Conte is based on a three central defenders system and offensive full backs. He is not very happy with the left wing and that is why they have acquired Perisic, well known by the Italian coach. He can add experience and quality to the left wing either playing as a full back or even allowing Son to get some rest.
They have also strengthened the defense with the loan of Lenglet, even though it will be tough for the Frenchman to Plat regularly. The three starting central defenders for Conte seem to be Dier, “Cuti” Romero and Ben Davies.
In the midfield, Bissouma comes in order to get a spot in a midfield formed by Bentancur and Hojberg. Signed from Brighton, Bissouma can help defensively but also in the ball circulation due to his ease to receive the ball and turn around in order to get the attacking actions started.
The offensive area is where Tottenham have invested the most in this transfer market. Richarlison has joined from Everton in exchange for 58 million euros, who will battle with Kulusevski in order to earn a spot as the third striker. They have a good group of players in the forward position. On the other hand, they have also added keeper Forster and young defender Spence.

There is not room for everyone:
Several players will have to accept secondary roles and others will look to join other teams. There have recently been rumors that report the exit of Reguilón.
The English media have reported that Conte is not very happy with Reguilón and Barça would be interested in strengthen that position. Tottenham set a 25 million euros price on him, but there are also other options like a possible loan or even an exchange with Memphis Depay.
It is clear that it will be very tough to earn a spot in the offensive area. Bergwijn has been transferred to Ajax in exchange for 31 million and there are also news reporting that Valencia are already considering adding Bryan Gil back to their squad.
Ndombele and Harry Winks are also forced to leave if they want to play. The playing style of Conte does not fit at all with them, and in case the coach looked for alternatives, he will certainly bet on players like Lo Celso, who has performed properly since his arrival. On defense, Tanganga and Rodon also see themselves relegated and they both seem to plan on a loan due to their youth.
The financial investment of the club has been important. Paratici has managed to provide Conte with what he asked for, as they have increased the level of the rosters with the players they have brought. At the same time, they have been able to keep key pieces for the project like Kane and Son. Expectations towards the new season are to secure a Champions League spot in a battle with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, and lift any Cup in order to pay off their pending debt in the last few years, the trophies.
