Matchday 21 of LaLiga EA Sports saw Atlético de Madrid slip up and Real Madrid capitalise by comfortably beating Real Valladolid. In the lower reaches of the table, the highlights were Getafe’s win over Real Sociedad in San Sebastián and a heavy defeat for Valladolid, who remain bottom of the table. LaLiga Overtime kicks off on matchday 21.

LaLiga Overtime 24/25 – Match Day #21:

Atlético de Madrid crash once again:

Simeone‘s side have now gone their second consecutive game without a win after their historic run. The red and white team hosted a Villarreal side who were in poor form, and they did it at the Metropolitano, in front of their own fans. However, the argentinian had to make some rotations such as Antoine Griezmann.

A bad first half made ‘El Cholo’ modify the initial approach at half-time, but it was not enough, as the home team was only able to tie the game and did not show their best level in a game that had many stretches. Villarreal competed very well and were able to hurt Atlético de Madrid with Álex Baena at the helm of operations. The highlight of the match was the penalty given in favour of Marcelino‘s side in the first half.

Mbappé guides Real Madrid to the title:

Real Madrid did not miss the opportunity to increase their lead over their neighbours. Ancelotti’s men claimed a comfortable win in Valladolid against a team that is starting to look out of breath at this stage of the season.

Kylian Mbappé was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick to move within two goals of Lewandowski in the scoring charts. The game was very comfortable for Los Blancos and the french striker showed his power, speed and technical quality. Mbappé is back and this makes Real Madrid exponentially better, as the Frenchman is capable of winning games on his own.

FC Barcelona smash Valencia CF:

Hansi Flick’s team swept aside a Valencia side who were already two minutes down on the scoreboard. Barça’s attacking players had many chances to their advantage and penalised the ‘chés’, who were given a harsh punishment.

The visitors are still in the relegation places and after this humiliating defeat their spirits are even more damaged. The truth is that Valencia are four points from safety, so they are still in with a chance of avoiding a relegation that would be the stuff of spanish football history.
