There are player who seem to be blessed by magic. They are those who get the enthusiasm from the crowd since their first action and who already tend to be top since their debut. At Barça, dominated by the ‘Dream Teen’ fever, there are several cases of early stars, but Ansu Fati has become the symbol of a generation that has the mission to lead the club back to where they belong to.

Ansu Fati has not stopped breaking records since his first appearance on August 25th 2019: second youngest player in Barça´s history to debut in LaLiga (16 years and 298 days old). Just a week later, on August 31st, broke another one: youngest player in Barça´s history to score a goal in LaLiga. He continued that way throughout the entire season, where he scored 7 goals in 24 games. His top class talent was already glimpsing.

“My dream has always been to succeed at Barça”

Ansu Fati on extending his contract

They detected his potential right away inside the club and Koeman did not hesitate to put him officially in the first team since last campaign. The winger became a key piece for the Dutch coach and Luis Enrique also noticed him: third youngest player to make his debut with the Spanish National Team after Zubieta and Gavi in the game against Germany on September 3rd 2020.

But beyond the records, which has been the reflect of his immediate irruption in the elite, we must point out his addition not only on the field but also on bringing back some excitement to the Barça fans, who now have several diamonds to enjoy of.

Barça have been the victim of a negligent economic management led by Bartomeu and the aftermath now are deep, but talent from the academy is endless: Pedri and Ansu have barely been in the first team for two seasons and have already signed big contracts that bound them to the club for the next lustrum; Gavi, Nico or Baldé are about to take off towards the star consolidation. All of them have grown at home.

Ansu is that kind of different player who creates danger every time he comes in contact with the ball and who paying a ticket is worth it for to watch. A natural 1vs1 winger with resources to cut inside, combine and drible who tops off with effective finishing. An explosive juggler who represents a playing style in danger of extinction.

The unfortunate injury that he suffered last November prevented us from enjoying of his game for ten months where the best player in the history of the club, Leo Messi, left.

Ansu, standard of a new resurrection era of the club, grabbed number ’10’ and presented himself as the heir of the Camp Nou throne. He returned, scored and his teammates lifted him up to the sky of Barcelona so the crowd could bless him as their new idol. This is the magic that only the chosen ones have.
