Ever since Ceuta-native Nayim made his way to English football back in 1988, thus becoming the first Spaniard to play in the league of the British Isles, there have been numerous Spanish footballers who have set foot on English soil. However, only a few have had a real impact in the English league. That is the case for both Cesc Fàbregas and David Silva, who have recently been nominated to the prestigious Premier League Hall of Fame.
These talented midfielders left their mark on British football and deserve to be recognized for their achievements and contributions, even if the fans of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City remember Fábregas and David Silva as undeniable legends of their respective clubs.

Two players with a great legacy in the Premier League:
Cesc Fàbregas made his debut with Arsenal at the age of 16 in the 2003/2004 season and, after eight years at the club, he chose to return to FC Barcelona, the club that saw him mature as a player, in 2011. After two years at the Catalan side, he returned to the Premier League, but he would join Chelsea FC this time around.
The player born at Arenys de Mar played 350 matches, scored 50 goals and dished out more than 100 assists in the English league.

At the British Isles, Fàbregas managed to win two Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, a league cup and an English Supercup over his stay at Arsenal and Chelsea. Amongst other achievements, he also became the second top assistant in the Premier League, only trailing the likes of Ryan Giggs.
As for David Silva, he arrived at Manchester City from Valencia CF in 2010. There, he would go on to play ten seasons at the highest level. Over his 309 Premier League appearances, he would record 60 goals and 106 assists.

Over the course of his stint at Manchester, he would lift four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five league cups and three English Supercups.
The Canary player is considered a legend of the Cityzen side and one of the best Spanish midfielders ever.

The ferocious competition they face to make it into the Hall of Fame:
Both players will face off against other stars of the English league such as Eden Hazard, Yaya Touré and Nemanja Vidic in a public poll. The final decision is up to the fans, who will have to choose the players that receive the honor.
Any fan that wants to take part in the process can participate through the Premier League’s official website until the 8th of April, the day in which the winners will be announced.
We hope that both Cesc Fàbregas and David Silva make it into the Hall of Fame and keep on being remembered for their excellent contributions to English football!
