The soap opera on Jadon Sancho has been on sports newspapers for a year, apart from all the rumors on the media and, all in all, the intrigue by many fans around the world. Now that his sign is a reality, it is time to see where he can fit in at Manchester United.
His position on the field does not offer many speculations: if Ole Gunnar Solskjær maintains his usual system, Sancho will be a right winger. That is to say, the role that Mason Greenwood has taken up until now. This way, one of the biggest questions regarding to the new XI is the new function that the ‘Red Devil’ academy player will get.
The truth is that Sancho´s addition will allow Greenwood to play on his natural position (striker). This way, after Edison Cavani´s contract extension, the spot will now be shared by both players. This is actually an ideal scenario: the Uruguayan age -34 years old- demands a smart management of his playing time; while his teammate will avoid to take all the offensive responsibility by himself.
This way, the attacking line would now be set with Marcus Rashford on the left wing. On the other hand, and as far as there are not any other sells, the second unit guys would be Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Amad Diallo, Daniel James, Facundo Pellistri and Tahith Chong. All of them are susceptibles to leave the club either through a trade or a loan, which is why we must still wait.
Today the certainty is that Manchester United have increased their level with Jadon Sancho´s sign. The Englishman talent is well-known, and even though they still need to strengthen up some key positions. the ‘Red Devils’ should be excited about this addition on their roster.
