The career of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has turned over in the last few weeks. The Gabonese has gone from being the captain and franchise player for Arsenal to being condemned to the ostracism.
The Athletic has revealed that Aubameyang travelled to France with the club’s permission to visit his mother, who has health conditions. However, the ‘Gunners’ said that the player was supposed to return to London last Wednesday, but he instead came back on Thursday morning.
According to the English website, this is not his first indiscipline act from the striker: an absence on a Covid-19 test prior to a game; a violation of the sanitary protocol to get a tattoo; and several times being late are some of the insubordinations he has committed.
Mikel Arteta has not called up Aubameyang for Arsenal’s last two games and has also confirmed that he will not play against Leeds either. This way, it is predictable that the punishment will be permanent for now.
On the other hand, the team is not missing him on the field. The ‘Gunners’ are 4th on the Premier League table are are showing an unexpected level compared to the start of the season. Due to this reason, the club might contemplate a possible trade. We will keep an eye on this.
