The Real Sociedad of Imanol Alguacil are one of the most recognizable and safest teams at LaLiga Santander, as this start of the season proves. The ‘txuri-urdines’ have been doing great things in the last few years from the technical direction all the way to the planning and sporting management. As a result, they have qualified for European competitions for the last three consecutive seasons.

The team of Alguacil knows perfectly the way they play and they also count on the required pieces to carry out their plan. Each player has a specific role assigned and they are all ready to compete at the highest level whenever they get the opportunity to be on the field.
Furthermore, their management when buying and selling players is an example. The signing of David Silva (free), the loan of Martin Ødegaard… But specially, the sale of Alexander Isak for 70 million euros to Newcastle.
This kind of deals can only take place when you do things the right way since the beginning, as Real Sociedad were not in need at all to sell the Swedish striker.
On the opposite side, Newcastle were desperately looking for a striker to complete their roster. As a result, they ended up accepting the demands from Real Sociedad and they closed the agreement at a historical price for the club from the Basque Country.

The replacement for Alexandr Isak, Umar Sadiq, had a total cost of barely 20 million euros. However, the bad luck will prevent us from seeing him playing for Real Sociedad until next season.
Despite this unfortunate and uncontrollable situation, Real Sociedad can even take a positive outcome out of this. Even though they have several key absences right now, such as the cases of Mikel Oyarzabal and Robin Le Normand, among others, they keep picking up wins mostly thanks to their outstanding planning management.

Despite all the adverse situations that Imanol Alguacil’s squad has had to face up to this point, Real Sociedad are one of the teams with the most scored goals at LaLiga Santander, one of the teams with the most victories and one of the most entertained teams to watch for the neutral spectators.
We are not discovering anything new, but this squad certainly knows how to overcome any obstacle, and they will be a solid candidate once again to finish on top of the table if they manage to keep this consistency.
