The Frenchman had an excellent performance, but we must remind you that his level in the Ligue 1 has nothing to do with what we saw the other day. He has shown a poor decision making forward several times and some lacks against tough defensive lines. Even though he has a lot of time to improve, this facts must add a deeper perspective towards comparing him to the legendary Ronaldo Nazario.
It is true that his physical strength (his biggest virtue), along with his aspect, make him similar to the Brazilian striker, but he is very far away from even getting close to his legend, at least for now. On the other hand, Mbappé´s quality, display and mindset make to think that he will become one of the best players in the world. However, the “competition” will be tough.
Erling Braut Haaland is the rival that both the media and the public opinion have put in the debate. The 20 years old Norwegian has had incredible scoring numbers so far. He has scored 25 goals in 24 games this season, while Mbappé has 21 goals in 29 matches. Regarding to the last year, Haaland has scored 36 goals in 40 games, while Mbappé has 30 goals in 42 matches.
Borussia Dortmund´s striker, who is two years younger than Mbappé, has proved to be a real killer inside the box. His regularity is tremendous, hust as all his conditions: physical strength, shooting, and intelligence to move around the wole attacking area and always make the right choice. He is a player that intimidates and makes a huge impact just with his presence.
The most surprising aspect in Haaland is his age. Just like Mbappé, he is ambitious guy that can certainly be the best footballer in the world in the next few years. They are both being the main characters on every social media debate after their outstanding performances in the Champions League. Everyone would like to have any of them in his team. The only certain aspect is that they are both elite and present players and, if there are no injuries on the road, future, as well. They are the next worldwide football dominants along with many others that will also be on the newspaper covers sooner or later.
