The 23rd LaLiga matchday has left us with a thrilling derby which, together with FC Barcelona’s victory at the Sánchez Pizjuán, makes the race for the title more exciting than ever. At the bottom of the table, Getafe CF extended their unbeaten run and continue to pull away from relegation and Valencia CF won their direct duel against CD Leganés. LaLiga Overtime 24/25 – Match Day #23:
A derby that tasted of little:
Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid delighted us with a very attractive football match, which left tactical changes and many details of quality of the stars who played the game. However, both teams drew the same conclusions, the draw was too little for them.
Simeone‘s side surrendered the initiative and possession to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who had a chaotic first half in which Atlético were awarded a penalty by Tchouaméni for Julián to open the scoring. The Whites reacted in the second half, equalising right from the kick-off with a goal from Mbappé and laying siege for several stretches of the second half to the goal of Jan Oblak, who for many was the MVP of the match. The result is insufficient for both sides and leaves one big winner: FC Barcelona.
RC Celta pull off an epic performance:
Claudio Giráldez’s side had to come back in the second half after a terrible first half in which they went in 0-2 down at the break. Betis came out all guns blazing at Balaídos and Antony and Javi Rodríguez were a nightmare for the Celta defence.
After the break, Celta came out with two more gears and found themselves with a Fran Beltrán shot to put them in the game. The home-grown players were once again decisive in Vigo, as the introduction of Fer López and Hugo Álvarez’s runs down the left finally tipped the scales in the blues favour.
FC Barcelona comply in Seville:
The blaugrana team has three valuable points after winning 1-4 at the Sánchez Pizjuán. Flick’s side are now just one point behind Atlético de Madrid and two behind Real Madrid. Barça continued their good form of this 2025 and once again created a lot of chances.
Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Lewandowski once again made the difference and were decisive for their team which, under the command of Pedri González in the engine room, is capable of finding the key to all kinds of defensive gear. Barça are here and they are going for LaLiga.
