First Atlético game of the season, a very expected meet in order to see Luis Suárez´s debut as a Rojiblanco, even though he was not a starter. However, Costa did not waste his chance to show him off towards the arrival of a competitor for the striker spot. He opened up the scoreboard through an excellent header after a brilliant cross by Correa. Saúl could have increased their lead right away, but he missed a PK after a great save by Rui Silva. Granada stayed alive until halftime thanks to him.
Atlético were comfortable on the pitch and kept their ambition to score more goals: Joao Félix, who built everything in attack, also led their great performance.
Nothing changed after halftime. Joao Félix kept doing whatever he wanted and the goals came along through Correa and the Portuguese. Suárez made his debut and the first ball he touched was to assist Marcos Llorente. The Uruguayan does not need to match to leave his mark, but that was not just it. The other two balls he touched went in and he left the pitch with a pair. No doubt he starts the right way.
Atlético fans must be excited: their team dominated the whole game against an unrecognizable Granada: it seemed like they were worn out from their Europa League games. Overall, astonishing performance by Simeone´s squad, but Joao was the one to stand out the most, along with Suárez´s brace: Atlético will not deal with scoring issues anymore.
