Borussia Dortmund face a season in which they are looking to improve upon their performance in the previous campaign, especially in the Bundesliga. The German has, without a shadow of a doubt, been the revelation center-back of the last Bundesliga. His signing is reminiscent of the strategy used to acquire Schlotterbeck.
As for the African striker, he was the second highest scorer in the Bundesliga behind Harry Kane, with an impressive tally of 28 goals in 28 matches.
In addition, Borussia Dortmund will also have a veteran figure in midfield in Pascal Groß. The German will help when it comes to holding up the team thanks to his leadership and distribution ability. The signing of Groß will guarantee massive improvements in the quality of the ‘Wasps’ midfield.
Lastly, Borussia Dortmund have also secured the signing of Yan Couto for their right-back position in exchange for 30 million, which will most definitely translate into another improvement in a key area.
Other names being linked to the club are Rayan Cherki and Akturkooglu, who could be brought in to reinforce their now weakened offensive midfield after the departures of Reus and Sancho.
Sahin needs to get more out of players like Bynoe-Gittens or Malen if they were to stay at the club. There are likely to be more departures, but the project led by 35-year-old Nuri Sahin is starting to put together some very interesting names and profiles.
