The 27th round of LaLiga EASports has left us with results that have changed the standings in both the top and the bottom of the table. Real Madrid won narrowly against Rayo Vallecano and Atlético de Madrid lost at Getafe, all this while waiting for FC Barcelona to play their match, which has been postponed due to the the death of a member of Hansi Flick’s coaching staff. In the relegation zone, Valencia CF are out of the relegation zone after their win over Real Valladolid, Deportivo Alavés have a win over Villarreal CF and UD Las Palmas are already second to last after yet another game without a point. Bordalás knocks out Atlético de Madrid:
Atletico de Madrid arrived at the Coliseum with the chance to take the lead until Barcelona made up their game. Simeone’s side started with a Sorltoh goal from 11 yards, but it was not the best day in terms of play for the ‘Colchoneros’. Griezmann and Julian barely featured and didn’t generate much in attack.
Getafe CF gave their all at all times and were a very uncomfortable and rocky team. Bordalás got his first win against Simeone as Getafe coach with two late agonising goals that brought the stadium down. Atlético de Madrid remain in third place after this defeat and Getafe move up to 12th.
Real Madrid cling on to LaLiga:
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were narrowly beaten by a brave Rayo Vallecano who gave their all until the end. Vinicius Jr and Mbappé were both on target, but the Frenchman was unlucky, but he made the difference in a game where the Brazilian was the one who shined the most. ‘Los Blancos’ dropped off the pace again in the final 3rd and ended up asking for the hour.
Iñigo Pérez’s men tested Lunin, who was very accurate in his interventions, and managed to close the gap with a great goal from Pedro Díaz, but they could not find the key to tie it up. With this result, Real Madrid are in 2nd place, level on points with FC Barcelona, who have a game in hand, and Rayo Vallecano in 8th.
Valencia CF pull themselves out of the hole:

Álvaro Rubio’s side have once again lost a direct duel and are getting closer and closer to mathematical relegation. With Alavés’ win, the big loser is UD Las Palmas, who are still eight points clear of the Pucela side. We will see what happens to the club in the remainder of the season and how these results affect the board of directors.
