Levante‘s project is not going unnoticed by Montse Tomé, the Spanish national team manager. For years, the ‘Granota’ side has been a reference for the whole country, and it has reflected in their results and their ability to have better players in their roster. This is the case of Anna Torrodà, who arrived this summer in a transfer from Valencia and has become critical for the system of Sánchez Vera. Consequently, the Catalan player has been called up to the senior squad of the national team.

For many people, she is unknown, but Anna Torrodà has been among the elite of the sport for a long time. At 23 years old, she has been critical to every team she has played for. A player developed in ‘La Masía’, that has a lot of quality, forcefulness and exquisite touch. Her polyvalence has been key throughout her career, as she can play in midfield or even as a defender.

Leaving FC Barcelona is never easy, but back in 2018 she decided to move to RCD Espanyol. The player wanted to take the required step to join the elite and it seemed like she had no room for it in the ‘Azulgrana’ side. She is one of the gems of the Catalan club and her departure was a painful blow for Barça.
The two seasons she spent at Espanyol allowed Anna Torrodà to settle in the First Division. She was a lock for the ‘perico’ midfield and Valencia quickly took notice of it. The Valencian side secured her signing back in 2020 to create a young project with tremendous upside.

Torrodà’s numbers reflect her great performances on the field. She spent three campaigns at Valencia, playing a total of 90 matches in which she scored five goals. Throughout her spell at the Valencian side, she managed to make her debut with the senior Spanish squad in 2021.
This summer, after her contract was up, Torrodà decided to take the step to join Levante. The ‘granota’ team had a very ambitious project centered around qualifying for the Champions League. In the end, they could not make it, but the expectations for the Valencian squad are, once again, sky-high this year.

The player is critical to Sánchez Vera’s system, mainly occupying the defensive midfielder position to bring the ball up the pitch and create plays from the base. Even playing as a defender, where she coordinates to perfection with another one of the players featured in the list, María Méndez.
Levante have a very promising project in their hands, based around players with a lot of potential and future. Alba Redondo, who already stood out in the World Cup and is a candidate for the Ballon d’Or is the star of the team. However, players like María Méndez or Anna Torrodà are starting to knock on the door of the greatest in the world.
