Wolverhampton have completed the signing of 24-year-old striker Strand Larsen from Celta de Vigo for a fee in the region of 30 million euros.
In this way, he becomes the most expensive signing of the English team so far this season and the departure that has left more money in the coffers of the Vigo team in history, along with Gabri Veiga last year.
Although this operation is a bit of a trap, as officially it isn’t a transfer, but a transfer in exchange for three million euros with a compulsory purchase option at the end of the season for 27 million euros. Therefore, the transfer will count towards the 2024/2025 season.
Strand Larsen, a top quality stopper:
Strand Larsen is an unknown player to the general public. However, in Balaídos, Celta’s fans have him as one of the best valued players, having earned this good esteem.
The Nordic has been the top scorer of the Galician team, ahead of the team’s star Iago Aspas (nine goals), with 13 goals that were key to achieve the agonising salvation at the end of the season.
The young player is a natural finisher. He stands out for his great physical strength which makes him lethal in the air, having a great ability to finish off any cross into the box.
Strand Larsen is a very explosive player who is a great one-on-one player in duels with defenders. He also has a powerful shot that makes the opposition goal shake every time he puts the ball in the back of the net.

Since Raúl Jiménez’s fateful collision with David Luiz that left the Mexican with a badly fractured skull, the striker hasn’t been the same, leaving behind the player who fascinated the Molineux fans. Jiménez was eventually transferred to Fulham last season.
In fact, since then, the ‘Wolves’ haven’t been able to find an attacking benchmark. And yet the English haven’t stopped looking for the figure of the ‘9’. They have tried with the legendary Diego Costa, the Brazilian Cunha or the young Portuguese Fabio Silva, failing in each of these attempts.
