In January 2023, after being rumored to join Arsenal, Mykhailo Mudryk landed in London in exchange for 100 million euros, but he would go on to play for Chelsea. There have been many cases of multimillion fees being paid for unproven players.

One of the main causes behind these transfers is the age of the affected players, but it is also true that the general public often lacks the required patience for them to justify the money that has been spent on them.

The amounts that clubs pay for them can result in extra pressure that some find difficult to manage, but in most cases, the talent is there, like in Mykhailo Mudryk’s case.

The Ukrainian winger is very explosive and possesses a rapid sprint as well as a very powerful shot off of his right foot. He landed at Stamford Bridge last season but has not not settled into the team yet.

Since his arrival, he has been criticized for the price of his transfer and his inconsistent performance caused by his lack of appearances in Mauricio Pochettino‘s starting eleven.

Mudryk has shown flashes of his talent in London, but he has displayed his best football with the Ukraininan national team, where he has shown off his tremendous top speed and dribbling ability, qualities that can make a difference.

Against the Ukrainian, it must be said that, at times, he is somewhat imprecise when combining in the opposing half area and does not have the finesse or decision making of a world class player yet. However, at 22 years old, these tendencies is can still be corrected.

Pochettino’s ability to develop young talent is also a factor to keep in mind, as the Argentinian manager has stated in many occasions that he wants to take the adaptation process of the youngster slow.

All things considered, Mykhailo scored his best goal since arriving in London last month and, little by little, he is starting to show his tremendous conditions. More than likely, many of you my not agree with this statement, but some of us still have faith in him.

It remains unclear whether Pochettino will remain at Chelsea next season. What is clear is that, thanks to his verticality and long-distance shot, Mudryk colud really help a Chelsea side that have an out of form Sterling or inconsistent players such as Jackson or Madueke up front.

We will see what ends up happening at Stamford Bridge as, in spite of his poor start with ‘The Blues’, the Ukrainian still has a lot to say.
