Atlético de Madrid, new LaLiga leaders:
Diego Pablo Simeone has won away against FC Barcelona for the first time since he has been Atlético de Madrid coach. The ‘colchoneros’ were dominated for quite a few stretches of the game, mainly in the first half. Sorloth once again settled the game from the bench and the Red and Whites are now top of the table.
As far as Barcelona were concerned, Flick‘s side lacked punch and left a positive impression, especially in attack. The best news was the good performance of Pedri, who continues to play at a high level and is proving that he has overcome his injury problems.
Valencia cling on for dear life:
Pipo’ Baraja‘s side once again put in a very poor performance and salvaged a point in stoppage time with a goal from Dani Gómez. With this draw, Valencia are no longer bottom, but remain on the same points as Real Valladolid. For the moment, there is no news on Baraja’s position, which is still very much under discussion.
Coudet’s Alavés have drawn for the third time in a row and still can’t get away from the bottom of the table. Let’s see if the Argentinian can improve the situation of ‘El Glorioso’.
Real Madrid beat Sevilla:
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were far superior to the Seville outfit, putting in more choral moves and considerably more fluid ball circulation. Mbappé was once again at a good level, scoring a superb goal. Valverde, Rodrygo and Brahim completed the scoring with a great performance from the Moroccan. As a highlight, the Italian coach brought on Camavinga at left-back and Dani Ceballos once again had a great game.
On the Sevilla side, the good news was that Lukébakio was back on top form and Isaac Romero was on target again. García Pimienta’s side were somewhat fragile in defence, as Real Madrid had plenty of chances.
